FTR Ranks #1 In PWI Tag Team 100; Top 10 Revealed

FTR Have been recognised as the best tag team in wrestling in the past year by Pro Wrestling Illustrated.

PWI posted an update on social media to promote the new issue of the magazine, which includes the 100 best tag teams in wrestling based on their performance in the previous year. In the post, Dax Harwood and Cash Wheeler have been awarded the number one spot for 2023 after being placed second the previous year.

The top 10 is as follows:

1. FTR (Dax Harwood & Cash Wheeler)
2. Aussie Open (Mark Davis & Kyle Fletcher)
3. Kevin Owens & Sami Zayn
4. Bishamon (Hirooki Goto & YOSHI-HASHI)
5. Motor City Machine Guns (Chris Sabin & Alex Shelley)
6. ABC (Chris Bey and Ace Austin)
7. The Acclaimed (Max Caster & Anthony Bowens)
8. Judgement Day (Finn Balor, Dominik Mysterio, Damian Priest)
9. Damage CTRL (Dakota Kai, IYO SKY, Bayley)
10. 7UPP (Nanae Takahashi & Yuu)

Notably absent from the top 10 are The Usos, who placed number one in the 2022 rankings. Although no longer a tag team at the time of writing, Jimmy and Jey did have notable battles with Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn at WrestleMania and Jey Uso shockingly pinned Roman Reigns in a tag team match at Money in the Bank in July.

The AEW tag team rounds out the PWI rankings of 2023, with Seth Rollins being awarded #1 men’s wrestler in 2023 and Rhea Ripley awarded #1 Women’s Wrestler in 2023.

FTR Wins Titles In Multiple Promotions

While some of the teams listed in the top 10 found success in a singular promotion, FTR held gold in 4 different promotions. Some of their best matches in the previous 12 months included the bloody battle against The Briscoes in a Dog Collar match and a Title vs. Career match against The Gunns. FTR would keep ahold of the titles at All In, defending the titles against The Young Bucks in front of over 80,000 inside Wembley Stadium.
